ABSTRACT

Concept teaching in our Schools is generally said to be far removed from life experience and reality or natural away of life. Children are mode force to send many hours of the day in learning and continuously repeating from books without experiencing or understanding their life value. In reality, a school provides a child for life by making him live in reality and also provide opportunities where he can use his powers of thinking and skills of doing. It is now accepted that if is not the teachers wishes should make a child study a certain subjects but it is the children who should have a clear idea to what to do. The Edutain method or Fun learning teaching method is advisable for teaching and curriculum followed.

Introduction

 In our most of the schools we usually adopt the lecture or lecture com demonstration method of the most. In all these methods we either provide them with a right answer or they hunt for the answer they are already aware of .The Edutain of Fun learning method is a teacher- student- centered method in which teacher and students are challenged to co-relate the concepts in Entertained manner. It is a modern method of teaching in which the school, the curriculum, content and teacher are considered from a child’s point of view.

                        To create an effective learning situation in the in the classroom includes there conditions. They are.

  • The classroom atmosphere should facilitate free exploration. Learners must feel safe and accepted. They need to understand fun of acquiring new knowledge and understanding. The classroom must provide for involvement, interaction, and socialization along with right approach to concepts.
  • Learners must be given frequent opportunities to comfort new information and experiences in the search for meaning. However, these opportunities need to be providing in way that allows students to learn more than just receive information.

New meaning should be acquired through a process of fun learning. Here methods used to encourage learners own style and pace of learning.

Meaning and characteristics:

Edutain method or Fun learning method means something that has include Education+Entertainment or full of Fun to learn of concepts or a scheme or an Undertaking.

            Edutain method is a method of teaching which involves lot of Entertainment or fun or joy for students as for as teacher in the process of teaching- learning.

            “This method as name itself implies is a method by which both teacher and students involve absolutely and find easy salutations’ for different, difficult concepts”

            For example: (a+b) 2= a2+b2+2ab this equation can define or as to facilitate to students through following method.

            The aim of this method is to develop the spirit of leaning through fun. The inherent interest of the students can drag out side and make them participate in the class –room activity completely.

            This method insists on interest of involvement, the basis of which is on personal reasoning and experience at most. Here teacher made an attempt to encourage the students not to accept concepts blindly but understood some particular learning. Students has to involve because its joy full or fun way of learning it gives Entertainment, so that students can learn concepts easily.

            The procedure inherent on Edutain method is very simple. A concept is given to every pupil. He is expected to involve. Thus, the main objective of Edutain method is “ to make students more exact, more truthful, observation, thoughtful, dexterous, to lay the foundation for better future” In this daily life, the students face so many live experiences. So, inculcate all examples to current concepts from different sources. Thus there is no spoon feeding on part of the teacher.

Each peers tries to acquire knowledge about the problems them different fun learning. He is free to move and discuss the concepts with teacher. The teacher should try to induce answers from students by raising as many questions as possible, in this way they finally draw out conclusions.

Teacher’s Role:

Teacher role is very demandable in this method. Teacher should create a class –room situation in such a way that subject may not drop at any extent and involve the students at maximum length. Teacher has to play an important role using following method.

  • Here the teacher should keep in mind the age, ability, class and level of the students along with available facilities.
  • Teachers should provide sufficient background information and help the students to get it.
  • Teacher should give freedom of thought and action.
  • Teachers should possess curiosity, interest and spirit in the students to achieve concept in proper way.
  • The Teachers should ensure an atmosphere of freedom, so that students are encouraged towards self-development, spontaneity and self-expression.

ADVANTAGE AND DISADVANTAGE

Advantages:

  • This method develops creativity in both Teacher and students.
  • Students become self- confident since they try to reason through self – activity.
  • The probability of concepts and facts being related for a long time, because the students learn from fun learning through entrainment.
  • Students are encouraged to become self – reliant. They gain great fun and pleasure from this method.
  • It helps in developing a healthy rapport between students and teacher because it is a teacher –student-centered method.

Disadvantages:

  • This method is feasible for small class according SSA.
  • It is uneconomical in terms of time but it helps at some extent to explain difficult concepts.
  • Time consuming method.
  • Sometimes it is difficult to co-relate some concepts in languages.
  • It is not suitable for vast number of topics and students.

Eventho, all these limitations this method is possible when properly implemented and possible to serve the following purposes:

  • To make learning experiential and joyful
  • The essential conditions for this methods are
  1. Freedom of action to the students.
  2. Acquire sufficient knowledge from the teachers.
  • Providing a props responsive encouragement.
  1. Providing a proper environment.
  2. Required continue encouragement to learning.
  3. Providing essential atmosphere on the class room and involving almost all the students.

Conclusion:

The word method derived from Latin word ‘made’, meaning ‘way’. It means that process of delivering or transmitting specific skills. The main goal is students and teacher comprehension and their ability to apply the content and process of knowledge. We note that the teaching- learning process is a very complex mixture of teacher, students, instructional and illustrating material, and pleasant atmosphere in the setting of school. So, that keeping in view of all these contextual condition authors made an attempt to inculcate teachers, students and knowledge under one shelters.
